peaq Powers the Launch of the First Tokenized Robo-Farm
peaq, a blockchain network designed for the Machine Economy, has partnered with urban agritech firm KanayaAI and tokenization platform DualMint to launch the world's first tokenized vertical robo-farm. Located in Hong Kong, the semi-autonomous facility leverages AI-driven robotics and hydroponic systems to optimize crop production.
The farm targets a yield of approximately 12 annual cycles for crops like lettuce, kale, and spinach—far exceeding traditional farming's three to four cycles. Efficiency gains include a 50% reduction in labor costs, a 20% increase in output, and resource savings through a proprietary vertical design that uses land ten times more effectively and consumes 90% less water.
Ownership stakes are tokenized as NFTs on the peaq blockchain via DualMint, granting holders revenue-based yields. The project aligns with Hong Kong's sustainability goals while pioneering a model for decentralized, community-driven agriculture.
